Dear Representative Alex Charlton,
My name is Sierra Manieri and I am an 8th grade student at ETR Middle School in Springfield. I think the Electoral College should not be used to decide who is president. Instead, I think we should start using the National Popular Vote (NPV) because the Electoral College is undemocratic, leads to voter fraud, and is outdated. I want you to consider with the National Popular Vote rather than the Electoral College.
The Electoral College should not be used because it is undemocratic. The electoral college is undemocratic because it not being used because it is leads to voter fraud.
The electoral college can lead to voter fraud. Voter fraud is when someone votes for another person when they already voted. This can happen at any time. So whoever was the president could be chosen by voter fraud. If that person had the most votes it could have been voter fraud that made that person have the most votes. When voter fraud occurs the person can vote as many times as they want for any person. The National Popular Vote would make every voter relevant instead of only those voters in swing states.
The electoral college should not be used because it is outdated. It has been around since 1789. Our population has changed significantly since then and the population has become more educated and aware of candidates. Thank you so much for your time and service.
Sincerely,
Sierra Manieri
