Empowerment Poetry
As society seems to lurk
And others gain a devilish smirk
She wanders and ponders going ‘round
And considers the condescending sound
Drivin away from all the despair
Where she doesn’t attract an evil stare
She thinks to herself, no need to cower
Instead try to reveal your true power
As she is retracted to the reality of misery
She walks down the hall with great liberty
Any negative remarks, actions, or even a doing
Were most certainly shaken off with a confident renewing
Again, they try to get under her skin
She laughs and smiles and thinks “I win!”
She struts away, never looking back
Making them feel like a rugged, beaten sack
As society seems to perk
And others gain a cheerful smirk
She wanders and ponders going ‘round
And finally joins in on the condescending sound
