Letter to State Representative
by Brendan Cong
Dear Alex Charlton,
My name is Brendan Cong. I am from ET. Richardson middle school in Springfield, Pennsylvania. I want my representative to vote by the Electoral College vote and not by the National Popular Vote because it will not be right to just have the National Popular vote to determine who would be our president. The Electoral college have been around a long time. Our founding fathers say that this is the way our system should work.
The electoral college makes me as a person more secure. I am not against the popular vote and I do want my voice to be heard. But I do think it may be possible to come together as a nation to find a more proactive way to emerge together.
Everyone’s voice needs to be heard and every vote has to count in order to feel as if we all make a difference. Mr. Charlton, we need to take off this action of matter. We need to preserve what our forefathers gave us with dignity. Please keep our system in place to elect our presidents by the Electoral College voting system.
Sincerely,
Brendan Cong
